Who we assess
Golf estates
We play as an unaccompanied visitor and report the whole day, from the booking to the last drink.
The guest journey here
What a visit actually is
A visitor spends five hours on a golf estate and perhaps forty minutes of that on your side of the service. The day is bracketed rather than continuous: the booking, the gate, the bag drop, the shop, the starter — then five hours largely alone with three strangers — and then a clubhouse that either receives them or does not quite know what to do with them.
And a visitor is not a member. Everything on the property is arranged around people who already know where things are, what is expected, what the etiquette is on the tenth tee and who to speak to about anything. A visitor spends the entire day quietly working out whether they are welcome here, and nobody on the estate can see them doing it.
The clubhouse afterwards is where the money is and where visitors are most often lost: the room that is obviously for members, the bar that hesitates over whether to serve them, the shower that is perfectly good if you already know which door it is behind.
Who it is for
It suits
- Estates charging a destination green fee whose visitors do not come back.
- Clubs where members are looked after impeccably and visitors are looked after by exception.
- Anyone whose staff have never had to find the halfway house without being told where it is.
What you learn
At the end of it
- What booking and arriving were like for somebody who had never set foot on the estate.
- How the day was framed before the first tee, and how it was closed after the eighteenth.
- Where a visitor was left to guess, and what they guessed.
- What they said about the estate three days later, once the round had settled.
Ask us what this would look like at your property.
An introduction is a conversation and then a written proposal. Our team replies within three working days, and nothing is agreed until you agree to it.
